Psychologist
Karen Boor is a nationally certified school psychologist who is also responsible for social work duties at Archuleta Elementary. As a psychologist, she consults with teachers to develop and implement individual, small group, and whole class interventions. These interventions focus on improving social-emotional functioning and reducing behavioral problems with the overall goal of increased academic and social achievement. When necessary, she completes cognitive and social-emotional assessments to determine the need for special education services. Additionally, she monitors attendance and assists families by locating community resources when needed. Karen has an open door policy, so all parents and guardians are welcome to stop by or make an appointment to discuss a concern with her.
